Question. 

From a rope 68 m long, pieces of equal size are cut. If length of one piece is 17/4 m, find the number of such pieces.

Solution :

Size of the rope = 68 m

Size of the one piece  = 17/4 m

Total number of pieces = (68/1) ÷ (17/4)

                       = (68/1) x (4/17)

                       = 272/17

                       = 16

Ans. 16 pieces
