This story is about a mischievous boy, Tapan, who was liked by all his friends. Since Tapan was able to take cudgels on his mates’ behalf thus he was considered as a ring leader. 

# Tapan went against a shopkeeper who charged higher prices and sell less quantity. The paper bags he gave goods in were padded and added to the weight of the objects being purchased.

# Further Tapan helps an old beggar woman by holding her hand and carrying her basket. Naren and Mahesh made fun of Tapan because he was holding the basket of the beggar. 

# The other time Tapan tried to nurse an ox with lot of kindness and this act was considered as an act of care. Tapan crushed a few medicinal leaves and dressed the injured leg of ox with pulp.

All these deeds led Tapan to the best character prize. The virtues possessed by him always highlighted him as a true human being who was always ready to take up the tasks for the sake of humanity.
